Haven’t written in a while or shared much encouragement lately, but this just happened out of the blue and so I share. At times I write and it takes time, at other times the words just write themselves or come naturally. This is one piece that came so naturally. Hope it blesses you as much as it has me.
Tonight, as I reminisce of times past, I’m reminded that although we cannot change the past, and may not understand everything we have gone through, we will one day understand things from the reverse side of what we are living currently and things will make sense.
We cannot fully understand or grasp things that happen in our lives as of yet, and so that is why we continue to move forward looking to that day when we will see the reserve side of things and the impact of them, not only on us, but others as well.
Some scenes might be wonderfully happy and some may be broken and brutal, but the truth remains that each day, each moment, each year, and each season is meant for something much bigger than we can ever truly fathom.
Maybe it’s meant to learn a lesson, or maybe things happened to give you personal experience to bless someone else who may require help along this journey of life and your experiences can be what someone else needs. Or possibly you crossed paths to just simply be a blessing to someone who needed you at that particular time.
I believe it is human nature to want to dissect the reasons why things happen, to try to understand, but to fully understand is not about getting the answers but rather being able to understand and trust the process and timing of life. For God has his plans and they will always be better than any we may have.
One day when we are fully able to look in reverse everything will make complete sense, even amongst the chaos and confusion, the struggles and the pain. All the how, when, where and most importantly the “Why” will all make complete sense.
I hear many say, “ I wasted time, I wasted energy on people who never cared,” well that my friends is not at all the truth. Truth be told everyone we meet, everyone we have helped or cared for or about are all apart of a larger picture we simply cannot fully see yet or truly understand the magnitude of the impact on each of our journeys.
To think any of your time is wasted is wrong, no matter the outcome in any situation. You may have needed that lesson, that burden, or that bad outcome to help you grow and possibly help someone else who needed to grow as well. Time given is never wasted, it is a priceless precious gift, as time given can never be replaced.
I personally feel this is by design by our loving creator, and always for OUR or HIS good, and although some days or some situations may seem more difficult to get through or overcome, if we change our perspectives to ask ourselves to look at what or how this/these situations are going to look in reverse one day, we may find that a lot of hurt and bitterness will fall out of our lives, and we may no longer think of time wasted but rather time used well.
If we only truly understood that although the rear view mirror in life might have been painful or pleasant, happy or sad, they all were for purposes we ourselves cannot see fully yet, however we all will one day see our lives in the reverse and the impact we truly made not only in our own lives, but those we have crossed paths with or blessed along the way. It may have been nothing more than a flash of a moment, a smile or helping hand or maybe even months or years spent, or even a lifetime but to understand fully-
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be Lived forward.
The rewards of seeing all of life’s blessings even when at the time things may not feel like such a blessing or a positive thing. We all can certainly change the way we view things moving forward.
Money can be replaced, things can be replaced, but people and time spent can never be replaced so we need to ponder the good with the bad, and the fact that we DON’T need answers today, or tomorrow, but we will see everything in reverse one day, and I believe we all will be pleased I pray to see that all the good, bad, happy and sad times were used for great things that one day we may all be in absolute awe of.
As mortals we cannot see the outcomes now, but the day we finally do see things in reverse, ALL, EVERYTHING will make complete sense.
So with all that being said, don’t hold resentments or hurts or feel like you wasted time, because you, yourself will touch many other lives in this journey and sometimes it’s the smallest of things that have the greatest impact.
I personally can not wait to see things in reverse and all will make sense as we see the journey we lived through and the difference we made in partnership with our Lord and Savior.
